Lucito & Normita General Store

General Store

A general store is a rural or small-town store that carries a general line of merchandise. It carries a broad selection of merchandise, sometimes in a small space, where people from the town and surrounding rural areas come to purchase all their general goods. The store carries routine stock and obtains special orders from warehouses. General stores often sell staple food items such as milk and bread, and various household goods such as hardware and electrical supplies.

Luc’s grandfather had a general store in Canada. That general store sold beans, cigarette, tobacco, chips, candy, household, home appliance, clothing, shoes, tools, hardware, electrical, paints, fishings, sports equipment, firearms, etc…

Business Concept

This document is to outline a business concept that has been in the back of my mind for many years. The main reason that it is still in the back of my mind is that the project requires substantial commitments and financing and that I was always waiting to find a place where I wanted to settle down and for other projects to move forward to be able to start this one.

After postponing it for a couple of decades, I think that it is a good idea to bring it to the forefront and actually work on making it come through as the time seems right. This document is not a business plan, but a way to put all the ideas that have been turning in my head for so many years. I plan to present it to various people to see if the project makes sense and is worth investing substantial efforts in preparing a formal business plan and finding proper financing.

Raspberry Pi Zero Case

The Raspberry Pi Zero Case has been designed to fit both the Pi Zero and the Pi Zero W. These official cases consist of several parts and protect the Raspberry Pi Zero from things like rogue wires that might short it out while still allowing full access to the board. Simply snap the RPi into the bottom half of the enclosure, then snap on a desired top. No tools required.

Each case has a standard base featuring a cut-out to allow access to the GPIO, and a choice of three lids: a standard lid, a GPIO lid (allowing access to the GPIO pins from above) and a camera lid which, when used with the short camera cable supplied, allows the Raspberry Pi camera to be fitted neatly inside it.

Alfredo Carreño

Considered one of the pioneers of the visual arts in Mexicali, Baja California, Alfredo Carreño is a sensitive artist who pours his feelings and emotions in the work with hand and brush full of life. The colors and elements of his work tell stories, they talk by themselves and show who he is better than what could be said with words. His passion can be perceived at the moment of being in presence of his art.

He was born on October 1954 in Mexicali, Baja California, son of the military Carlos Carreño Garcia and Mrs. Rosa Maria Valenzuela de Carreño, the youngest of 3 brothers. From an early age he showed an affinity for the arts in general music and in particular for drawing. He was a young spirited prankster, but who also greatly enjoyed the solitude and privacy. During the first years of his adolescence he heard by the first time to Spanish singer Massiel, who became the muse of his biggest inspirations and led him to decide on the path that would define his life. Art was the most appropriate way to express what he felt, and thanks to the inspiration that was Massiel, the art became his life, his career and passion.

Do Witches and Wizards?

Have you ever wondered if witches and wizards really exist in this modern world? Well yes, they do exist, and they are quite active in the modern world. You might also be a victim of them without knowing what’s really happening within your body.

Today, many well-educated scientists are beginning to believe its existence. In fact, they even began studying about its spiritual powers and mysteries.

Witches and Wizards broadly means the practice of, and belief in, magical skills and abilities that are able to be exercised individually, by designated social groups, or by persons with the necessary esoteric secret knowledge. Witchcraft is a complex concept that varies culturally and societally, therefore it is difficult to define with precision and cross-cultural assumptions about the meaning or significance of the term should be applied with caution. Witchcraft often occupies a religious, divinatory, or medicinal role, and is often present within societies and groups whose cultural framework includes a magical world view. Although witchcraft can often share common ground with related concepts such as sorcery, the paranormal, magic, superstition, necromancy, possession, shamanism, healing, spiritualism, nature worship, and the occult, it is usually seen as distinct from these when examined by sociologists and anthropologists.

Painting

Painting is the practice of applying paint, pigment, color or other medium to a surface (support base). The medium is commonly applied to the base with a brush but other implements, such as knives, sponges, and airbrushes, can be used.

In art, the term painting describes both the act and the result of the action. Paintings may have for their support such surfaces as walls, paper, canvas, wood, glass, lacquer, clay, leaf, copper or concrete, and may incorporate multiple other materials including sand, clay, paper, plaster, gold leaf as well as objects.

Homage Dali

Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, 1st Marqués de Dalí de Pubol (May 11, 1904 – January 23, 1989), known as Salvador Dalí, was a prominent Spanish surrealist painter born in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain.

Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931. Dalí’s expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media.

Dalí attributed his “love of everything that is gilded and excessive, my passion for luxury and my love of oriental clothes” to an “Arab lineage”, claiming that his ancestors were descended from the Moors.

Dalí was highly imaginative, and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior. His eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions sometimes drew more attention than his artwork, to the dismay of those who held his work in high esteem, and to the irritation of his critics.

In 2006 spring, while visiting the Jamaica market, I had bought a nice terracotta figure of ‘La Virgen de Guadalupe’, Mexico’s mystical figure and patron Saint. It is an icon that is omnipresent in the society here and I was thinking of painting it whenever I had some time.

Finally between late August and early September both Normita and I decided to get back into painting, as we were looking for some creative projects that would be fun to do, and be great at relaxing us. I picked up some acrylic sealer, new brushes, and some tubes of acrylic paint at the art supply store, to complement what we had on hand and went at it with gusto.

I really enjoyed the fun of mixing bright colors to paint the ‘Virgen’, and while I was doing that Normita made a nice painting that we recently got framed and put over our bed. Here is my contribution to the decoration of the place, and I’ll take a picture of Normita’s painting and post it, it she gives me permission.
